This BSc Honours Computer Networks (Mobile Computing) degree will prepare you to become a successful networks specialist.
You'll learn the technical skills to specify and build the physical infrastructure, the software development skills to make sure solutions are robust and secure, and the business and management skills to make sure that systems fulfil what the organisation needs.
The course is one of the five distinctive courses in networking and related science and technology. All explore the principles of up-to-date network systems and focus on key operational and technical aspects.
The Computer Networks course involves you in the study of Local and Wide Area Networks, Wired and Wireless networks, Cisco and Microsoft networks. CCNA and MCTS courses are part of networking modules in the curriculum. Further work looks at the theory and implementation of wireless networks, network management, network security, network applications development, and IT governance and law (with a particular emphasis on BSS-7799.) This course has been designed to ensure you gain the knowledge and develop the skills that the industry needs for both network administrators and developers, thus enhancing your career prospects.
Your third year will be spent on work placement. It's an opportunity to work alongside other network and IT professionals which gives you a fantastic opportunity to put into practice the knowledge and skills you've learnt.
